1.5-year-old yellow lab Scooby, Canada's first ATF-trained fire canine, joins Winnipeg's firefighting service to combat a surge in suspicious blazes. Graduating from a U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives program, Scooby can detect accelerants used in fires, assisting in the arrest and conviction of arsonists. He also participates in public education and arson-deterrence initiatives.
