US military paused Gaza pier construction due to rough seas; assembly now at Port of Ashdod.

The US military paused construction of a $320m floating pier off the coast of Gaza due to rough seas and high winds. The pier, which is meant to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians, was temporarily halted for unsafe conditions for soldiers working on the partially constructed pier. The construction has now moved to the Port of Ashdod, where assembly will continue until the sea conditions improve.
