Senator John Hoeven announces a $5.1 million federal grant for the University of North Dakota's Energy and Environmental Research Center to study carbon dioxide storage operations at Dakota Gasification's Great Plains Synfuels Plant. The project aims to store 35% of the plant's climate-warming CO2 emissions permanently underground and is set to expand the plant's role as the world's largest coal-based carbon capture, utilization, and storage project.
