30 sailors and marines were injured during a training exercise off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida, involving two landing craft, air cushions (LCAC), from the USS Wasp and USS New York. Five of the injured sailors were medically evacuated to a hospital in Georgia for further care, with four being released after treatment. The remaining sailors and marines experienced minor injuries and were treated on the ships. The incident is currently under investigation.
