RAC warns of petrol and diesel overcharge, with average prices increasing by 3p and 2p per litre in April.

The RAC warns of overcharging for petrol and diesel, as average petrol prices rose by 3p in April to 150.0p per litre, while diesel prices increased by 2p per litre to 157.8p. Pump prices have increased since the beginning of the year, adding £5.50 to the cost of filling a typical 55-litre family car. The RAC calls for the biggest fuel retailers to charge "fairer margins" to benefit drivers, which would help end the "postcode lottery" and stop rocket and feather pricing.
