Jharkhand High Court dismissed Hemant Soren's plea against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a land scam case.

Jharkhand High Court dismissed Hemant Soren's plea for judicial redressal against the Enforcement Directorate's decision to arrest him, calling the former chief minister a "losing litigant" and "anxious petitioner" who, as a last resort to "wriggle out of the mess created by himself, used the bogey of political vendetta". Soren was arrested by the directorate in connection with a land scam on January 31, and the court stated that the evidences and documents which went against him were not false. The court also granted Soren temporary bail for one day to attend the shraadh ceremony of his uncle, Raja Ram Soren, who passed away last month.
