99% of English school leaders find SEND funding insufficient, leading to reduced teaching assistant support, per NAHT poll.

99% of school leaders in England believe funding for pupils with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) is insufficient, according to a poll by the school leaders' union NAHT. Many schools have been forced to reduce the number of teaching assistants, who provide individual support to SEND pupils, or the hours they work. The findings have been published on the second day of the NAHT's annual conference in Newport, Wales. The union warns that funding shortages mean schools are unable to keep children and staff safe.
