The BC Wildfire Service issued Category 3 burn prohibitions throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre's jurisdiction, including North Okanagan, effective May 3. Open burning has been restricted in Electoral Areas B and C since April 30. The North Okanagan Regional District encourages residents to educate themselves on FireSmart principles and reduce fire risks around their properties.
