46-year-old man arrested on blackmail charges for a data breach threatening 1M Australians' personal details.

Police have arrested a 46-year-old man on blackmail charges related to an alleged data breach threatening to share the personal details of over one million Australians who signed in using their drivers' licences at clubs and venues across NSW. The cybercrime squad detectives worked closely with state and federal agencies to contain the breach and began an investigation under Strike Force Division. The man was charged with demand with menaces intend obtain gain/cause loss.
