40-year-old Carlow motorist David Quigley was convicted by Kilkenny District Court for driving a recently purchased car without insurance, a provisional license, and displaying a void disc. His car caught fire 30 minutes after purchase on the M9 motorway. Quigley was disqualified from driving for four years, fined €101 for not displaying 'L' plates, and an additional €200 for exhibiting a void disc.
