World food prices rose for a second consecutive month in April, according to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The FAO Food Price Index increased 0.3% from its revised March level, mainly driven by higher meat prices, modest upticks for vegetable oils, and cereals, while sugar and dairy prices decreased. The index stood at 119.1 points in April, down 9.6% from the same time last year.
