TUC General Secretary Paul Nowak accuses UK Government of causing real-term pay cuts for headteachers, leading to teacher retention issues and poor school infrastructure.
TUC General Secretary Paul Nowak accuses the UK Government of causing a far harder job for headteachers with more than a decade of real-term pay cuts, leading them to struggle to retain teachers. Schools also face issues with crumbling buildings, as over 83% of school leaders lack the funds for upkeep, leaving students in damp and mouldy classrooms. Nowak will call for a government that respects headteachers during his speech at the NAHT union conference in Newport, Wales.
