Trafigura orders four ammonia-powered MGCs for 2027 delivery, supporting a 25% carbon intensity reduction in its shipping fleet by 2030.

Commodity trading giant Trafigura has ordered four ammonia-powered medium gas carriers (MGC) for delivery in the 2027 timeframe. The vessels, which will be built at HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea, will carry liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or ammonia, and will be equipped with dual-fuel low-carbon ammonia engines. The order supports Trafigura's commitment to reduce the carbon intensity of its shipping fleet by 25% by 2030.
