Spotify may soon launch "Lossless," its long-awaited HiFi lossless audio streaming tier, increasing streaming quality from 320 kbps to 2,117 kbps and enabling 24-bit/44.1kHz audio for select songs in FLAC format. Leaked screenshots indicate the new tier will also include a HiFi compatibility checker and a warning to use wired headphones for optimal sound quality. The feature, initially announced in 2021, has been in development and is expected to be released soon, following the lead of competitors like Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal.
