Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) launched the Advance Ruling System, a trade facilitation scheme, to enhance transparency and improve collaboration with stakeholders. The system allows traders to obtain binding decisions on goods classification, origin, and valuation before importation. The initiative, in partnership with the Nigerian Energy Support Programme, is aimed at reducing compliance costs and fostering a conducive business environment for traders, aligning with World Customs Organization and World Trade Organization standards.
