4 men convicted for separate illegal salmon angling offences in Co Sligo, with fines of over €6,000 issued. Inland Fisheries Ireland secured the convictions, which included a man snorkeling offshore to capture wild Atlantic salmon and another placing a caught salmon into a rucksack before attempting to leave by bike. Two other men were prosecuted for failing to produce a salmon license or permit to fish.
