Kenya's President appoints Lt Gen Charles Muriu Kahariri as new Chief of Defence Forces following General Francis Ogolla's death.
Kenya's President William Ruto has appointed Lt Gen Charles Muriu Kahariri as the new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) following the death of General Francis Ogolla. Kahariri, previously the Vice Chief of Defence Forces, is promoted to the rank of General. Concurrently, Major General John Mugaravai Omenda is elevated to Lieutenant General and named Vice CDF, with Major General Fatuma Gaiti Ahmed taking over as Kenya Airforce Commander.
