Former Katsina Governor Ibrahim Shema officially defected from PDP to APC.

Former Katsina Governor, Ibrahim Shema, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Shema, who governed from 2007 to 2015, was issued an APC membership card by the state's party chairman, Sani Aliyu-Daura. Governor Dikko Radda and his immediate predecessor, Aminu Masari, were praised for their roles in securing Shema's defection.
