3 Irish-tagged cuckoos reveal winter habitats and migration routes between Europe and Africa.

3 Irish cuckoos tagged in Killarney National Park have provided insight into their winter habitats, shedding light on their migration routes between Europe and Africa. Cuach KP, one of the tagged birds, completed a 9,000 km round trip from Congo, where it spent the winter. The Cuckoo Tracking Project, set up by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and the British Trust for Ornithology, aims to better understand the cuckoo's migration patterns and habitat pressures on the population.
