The Indian Navy commenced trials for constructing six advanced submarines in a Rs 60,000 crore project, aiming to modernize its conventional submarine fleet. Indian shipyards Mazagaon Dockyards Limited and Larsen and Toubro were issued tenders to build the submarines in partnership with foreign vendors.
