India and New Zealand strengthen economic ties, focusing on pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and processed foods sectors.

India and New Zealand are bolstering economic ties by focusing on key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and processed foods. A recent delegation visit led by India's Commerce Secretary, Sunil Barthwal, resulted in discussions on creating working groups for sectors like pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food processing, storage, and transportation. The countries also aim to enhance collaboration in pharmaceuticals and medical devices, streamline regulatory processes, and ensure quality standards. Bilateral trade concerns, including market access, non-tariff barriers, and sanitary and phytosanitary measures, were addressed, with the services sector emerging as a focal point for both parties.
