The Department of Public Health and HSE West are investigating a confirmed case of measles in a child in County Mayo. Public Health was notified of the case in late April, and close contacts are being identified and advised. Measles is a serious, highly infectious disease, and the best way to protect oneself and others is through immunisation. If symptoms develop, individuals are advised to stay at home and contact their GP.
