Air Canada reported a Q1 loss of $81 million, with operating revenue increasing 7% year-over-year to $5.23 billion. The airline's capacity, measured by available seat miles, is set to grow by about 7% in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year. Despite the loss, the adjusted loss per diluted share was 27 cents, better than the 53 cents reported in the first quarter of 2022.
