45-year-old Joshua Dean, a former Boeing supplier whistleblower of 737 MAX plane defects, passed away due to a lung infection.

Joshua Dean, a former quality auditor at Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems and a whistleblower who exposed manufacturing defects in the 737 MAX planes, has died at the age of 45 after a sudden and fast-spreading lung infection. Dean was one of the first to raise concerns about the flaws in the manufacturing of the 737 MAX planes and was fired by Spirit AeroSystems in April 2023. His death comes after another Boeing whistleblower, John Barnett, died by suicide two months ago amid a lawsuit alleging retaliation for exposing safety concerns with the 787 Dreamliner.
