Supreme Court of India declines Indian government's request to allocate spectrum for telecom services without auction.

The Supreme Court of India has declined to receive an application by the Indian government requesting the administrative allocation of spectrum for telecom services. The court found the application for clarification on the matter misconceived, as it essentially sought a review of the 2012 judgment that mandates auctioning of spectrum, deeming it a scarce natural resource. The government has 15 days to appeal the decision.
