SK Hynix's high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips for AI chipsets are sold out until 2025, with a 60% annual demand growth in the mid to long-term.

South Korea's SK Hynix, a supplier to Nvidia, announced that its high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips, used in AI chipsets, are almost sold out for 2025, following a complete sell-out of their 2024 chips. The company plans to send samples of its latest 12-layer HBM3E chip in May and begin mass production in Q3. SK Hynix's CEO, Kwak Noh-Jung, noted that the HBM market is expected to continue growing as data and AI model sizes increase, with annual demand growth anticipated to be around 60% in the mid to long-term.
