PCI-SIG releases CopperLink Cable specification for PCIe 5.0 and 6.0, supporting up to 64 GT/s speeds.
PCI-SIG, the organization responsible for the PCI Express standard, has released the CopprLink Cable specification, supporting speeds up to 64 GT/s for PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 6.0. The new specification incorporates both internal and external cables, replacing OCuLink, and is designed to seamlessly integrate with the PCIe electrical base specification. Work is already underway to support PCIe 7.0 technology at 128 GT/s in future updates.
