M/V Hatteras ferry crew saves two men and dog in Hatteras Inlet, recognized by the Department of Transportation.

The crew of the M/V Hatteras ferry has been recognized by the Department of Transportation for their life-saving rescue in January. The crew noticed two men and their dog hanging onto an overturned boat in Hatteras Inlet and launched a rescue boat, alerting the U.S. Coast Guard. The men, identified as Mike Herulan and Doug Illing, and their dog Fin, are now in good health after the rescue.
