A murder investigation has been launched in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, after a suspected burglary left one man dead and another seriously injured. Derbyshire Police found the fatally injured man inside a property and the injured suspect in the road outside, both with gunshot wounds. The police believe it to be a "targeted incident" and do not believe there is a wider risk to the public. Two cordons are in place at two houses on the road, and the town of Whaley Bridge is described as a "small rural community" by Ch Supt Dave Kirby.
