On May 1st, a car and train collided at a level crossing in Redcar, leading to cancellations or revisions of all trains to and from Saltburn. No injuries were reported, but the incident caused disruption until midday, with Northern Rail providing alternative bus transport for passengers between Middlesbrough and Saltburn stations.
