Maruti Suzuki India has opened pre-bookings for the fourth-generation Swift hatchback at a booking amount of Rs 11,000, with an official launch scheduled for May 9. The new Swift will feature the Z-series 1.2-litre 3-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine, expected to have similar output as the outgoing K12 engine. The new model is set to include safety features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESP. Maruti Suzuki's Swift has been a popular model among Indian car consumers, with over 29 lakh units sold since its launch.
