Princess Charlotte received a lavish £35k gift as a baby, a 18k white gold rattle lined with sapphires, rubies, and diamonds to create a Union Jack. The Natural Sapphire Company gifted the rattle to thank Prince William and Princess Kate, as sales of sapphire engagement rings increased after their engagement. However, according to royal protocol, the young royal wasn't allowed to keep the expensive gift.
