Jamaica's Chief of Defence Staff, Rear Admiral Antonette Wemyss Gorman, has been promoted to Vice Admiral (Lieutenant General) effective May 10, following approval from the Defence Board. Three colonels have also been promoted to brigadier at the same time. Wemyss Gorman, appointed CDS in January 2022, has led the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) with trust and high morale, and kept the force on track with its 2017-2037 strategic plan.
