Insight Global, a staffing firm responsible for COVID-19 contact tracing in Pennsylvania, has agreed to pay $2.7 million in a settlement with the U.S. Justice Department and a whistleblower. The company mishandled the private medical information of approximately 72,000 residents, exposing their data during the contact tracing process. The U.S. government accused the company of failing to provide adequate cybersecurity for the sensitive COVID-19 contact tracing data.
