Florida FWC allows temporary possession of oversized largemouth bass for photo/video documentation or state record certification, requiring release back into waterbody.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) has amended rules for angler's catch and possession of largemouth bass within legal size limits. Anglers can now temporarily hold one largemouth bass over limits if it weighs over 8 lbs for photo/video documentation for TrophyCatch or over 16.5 lbs for potential state record certification after notifying FWC. Bass must be released alive back into the same waterbody. This change allows anglers to submit a TrophyCatch bass or certify potential state records, especially in catch-and-release or size limit waterbodies.
