A tornado, rated EF-1 by the National Weather Service, hit Cordell, Oklahoma, causing significant damage and leading to the cancellation of classes at Cordell Schools. The tornado, one of several in Southwest Oklahoma, had a path of 2.5 miles and estimated winds of 105-110 mph. The American Red Cross has opened a shelter for residents affected by the tornado.
