The Eden-Monaro region faces a social housing crisis, with over half of those seeking social and affordable homes missing out. There are only four social and affordable dwellings available for every 10 people in need. The City Futures Research Centre at UNSW warns that the area must add 100-200 social and affordable homes each year for the next two decades to prevent the crisis from becoming an intergenerational tragedy.
