Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois was fined $5,000 by the State Ethics Commission for violating the conflict of interest law. The commission found that Galibois used public resources to promote a campaign donor's rental apartments to his staff and to create a favorable public image after a car accident. Galibois admitted the violations and waived his right to a hearing.
