USPS plans to spend $22.5m to modernize Tulsa's Processing Facility, part of a 10-year Delivering for America plan. Despite the upgrade, all distribution operations for Tulsa will move to Oklahoma City, with a new Sorting and Delivery Center to aid local routes. The Tulsa facility will be converted into a Local Processing Center, with no career employee layoffs. The changes are due to more mail leaving Tulsa than entering.
