Scottish Parliament approves buffer zones around abortion clinics to limit anti-abortion protests.
Scottish Parliament has backed a new law, proposed by Green MSP Gillian Mackay, to establish buffer zones outside abortion clinics, restricting anti-abortion protests within 200 meters of hospitals and other facilities providing terminations. Supported by all parties and the Scottish Government, the Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Bill aims to provide a "safe and private" environment for medical care, similar to other healthcare procedures.
