2024 Q1 Philippine economy predicted to grow 5.8-6.3%, slower than 6.4% in Q1 2023.
Finance Secretary Ralph Recto predicts that the Philippine economy may have grown by 5.8-6.3% in the first quarter of 2024, despite inflation concerns. This would be slower than the 6.4% expansion recorded in the first quarter of 2023, and Recto said that anything higher than 5.5% is a win, considering last year's 5.5% growth. The government is targeting 6-7% GDP growth for 2024.
