Trainer Brad Cox confirmed that Encino, a Kentucky Derby contender, will not run in the race due to a soft tissue strain in its right front leg. Epic Ride, a 30-1 choice in the morning line, is set to replace Encino in the Kentucky Derby field. Despite Encino's absence, Cox still has other contenders in the race, including early 8-1 third-choice Catching Freedom and Just a Touch.
