Vancouver's 2026 FIFA World Cup hosting costs have doubled to between $483 million and $581 million, including city, province and stadium upgrade costs. The B.C. government says the event will generate enough revenue to result in a net cost of between $100 million and $145 million, with a total of around 350,000 fans expected to attend, generating more than $1 billion for tourism in the five years following the games.
