In Bessemer, Alabama, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross multiple lanes on 9th Avenue SW early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 1 a.m., and the driver involved stopped at the scene, contacted emergency services, and the victim was transported to UAB Hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
