University of Colorado Boulder develops biodegradable, 3D-printed self-propelled microbots for medical applications.

The University of Colorado, Boulder has developed a new class of self-propelled microbots for medical applications. Made from biocompatible polymer materials using 3D printing technology, these tiny robots resemble small rockets with fins, move at speeds of several hundred body lengths per second, and could deliver life-saving medications to hard-to-reach areas in the body. Researchers aim to make the robots biodegradable, allowing them to dissolve after releasing medication.
