Uninsured holidaymakers face financial ruin due to rising overseas medical costs, warns Abta.
Uninsured holidaymakers face "financial ruin" as emergency medical costs soar, warns travel trade organisation Abta. Medical expenses incurred overseas have "gone through the roof" in recent years, with air ambulance flight costs from the EU rising from 15,000-20,000 euros in 2019 to 25,000-30,000 euros last year. Holidaymakers are urged to ensure they have travel insurance to cover these costs.
