Singapore's foreign worker numbers declined for the first time in over two years due to reduced dependency on non-residents in construction and other sectors. Non-resident employment also contracted in manufacturing and information & communications, while employment growth slowed in Q1 2024. However, applications for higher-skilled non-residents increased in line with improved business expectations.
