Animal rights activists celebrate as parts of Ontario's agriculture law, which made it illegal to work on a farm under false pretences to expose conditions inside, are deemed unconstitutional. Justice Markus Koehnen struck down parts of Bill 156, the Security from Trespass and Protecting Food Safety Act, after a Charter challenge in 2021. Activists argued the law infringed on their freedom of expression.
