Australia's emergency hotline, Triple Zero, will be reinforced against future technical issues following a major Optus outage that left thousands of Australians unable to contact the crucial service. The federal government will implement changes over the next 12-18 months to improve accountability of telecommunication giants and boost oversight of the emergency network, based on a review of the crippling outage.
