In Surrey, B.C., a 68-year-old woman was hospitalized with possible life-threatening injuries after driving the wrong way down Highway 99 and crashing head-on into a Mercedes sedan. Both vehicles were significantly damaged, and the driver and passenger of the Mercedes were also brought to the hospital with minor injuries. Police closed the southeast lanes of Highway 99 to investigate and believe alcohol and a pre-existing medical condition were factors in the crash.
